TARGETED FLEXIBILITY TRAINING

A supplementary practice, YIN YOGA & MOBILITY TRAINING works fantastically alongside other fitness & sporting activities to quickly & effectively improve functional mobility. Regular practice enhances performance in all sporting and fitness disciplines, promotes less athletic injuries, reduces joint pain and can even improve circulation & sleep.

A slower, focused class to increase flexibility & functional mobility, with an emphasis on breathing technique to give a relaxing & meditative approach and to help relax & calm the body & focus the mind. The correct breathing technique also helps to greatly enhance flexibility & mobility gains.

Scientific research shows that for every high intensity workout, an additional 25% of the time should be devoted to mobility training/stretching to avoid mobility loss, reduce injuries and wear & tear to joints. Are you doing enough? Regular classes in Yin Yoga can ensure that you are.

Ideal for those new to yoga & those specifically looking to increase joint mobility & flexibility. Also hugely beneficial for the more experienced yogi to really enhance flexibility within their practice and access asanas that weren’t previously possible.

YIN YOGA utilises the science of deep passive stretching; we hold specific poses for longer, (around 3-4mins each) to really target the deep connective tissues and muscle fascia. These poses are accessible to by all, as modifications are offered for all levels of mobility. YIN YOGA is a straightforward class, suitable for all levels, but does require mental focus & some gentle physical stamina.

Particular focus is given to relaxed breathing technique, which enables the body to relax enough to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System, so that the deep connective tissues and muscle fascia can become effectively stressed. This improves flexibility, posture and mobility. Think along the lines of weight training, but instead of training/building the muscles, the deep connective tissues are being trained & improved.
